The Cottage in La Jolla: A Delightful Coastal Brunch Experience

Saturday afternoon we were looking for a nice meal. We managed to snag a parking spot right on the coast at La Jolla Cove. I used my phone to look for something nearby. We chose walking directions to The Cottage. It was less than a half-mile away.

Walking there seemed like the perfect way to build up an appetite and enjoy the charm of La Jolla. My directions took us up a scenic staircase at Coast Blvd & Ocean Street and through the Village of La Jolla Business District.

At almost 2pm, it was the tail end of brunch, We were told there would be 20 minute wait, but we got in much quicker than that.

My wife and son were starving so we started with coffee cake and a cinnamon bun. The bun was very hot and amazing, served with a few berries.

    The Antojito Eggs Bennedict

My son ordered the Milanese chicken sandwich. He seems to always order a chicken sandwich, but I was glad he got something he liked. My wife got the Southern California Omellet, and it was good. I was impressed with my Antojito Bennedict. I don’t usually like cottage potatoes, but these were better than usual. The benny came with unusually good black beans as well, and the English muffin they put the benny on was soooooo crispy. It was really good.

The atmosphere was amazing. The outdoor seating was full and it was a beautiful day. The sun umbrellas kept the space comfortable.

The Cottage has locations in Del Mar, La Jolla, and Encinitas. I may have to try them all.

I strongly encourage you to check out their website:
