Spilling the Tea

I love iced tea. When I’m in a restaurant, I almost always choose iced tea as my beverage. Black, Green, Jasmine, Chai, I enjoy them all. While I can also appreciate a steaming hot cup of tea from time to time, I greatly prefer the iced variety.

So when I found the Hario Cold Brew Tea Wine Bottle on Amazon, I knew I had to buy it. I had high expectations and it’s essentially met them.

It works with any loose leaf tea. I’m currently working my way through the Golden Moon Tea loose leaf tea sampler pack. I have enjoyed all of the varieties thus far.

To use the bottle, lightly cover the bottom of the bottle with your chosen tea leaves (about a tablespoon or two). Fill the rest of the bottle with water and put it in your fridge to chill. That’s it. In a few hours, you’ll have fresh brewed iced tea. The brewing process is easy and the built-in filter keeps the leaves out of the tea you drink.

I typically let it brew in the fridge for 2-3 hours for a lighter flavor or overnight for a more robust flavor.

I have found that I can get at least 2 bottle refills out of each serving of tea leaves. I’ve also kept batches in the fridge for over a week without any loss of flavor.

I’ve given it as a gift to other tea lovers and it was well received.

If you’re an iced tea lover like me, I highly recommend one for yourself.
