Neti pot does it work? Is it Safe?

Well I bought the neti pot tonight and I tried it out. The neti pot for those of you who have never heard of it is a nasal cleaning device. I filled up the neti pot with some warm water and follwed the directions. It said to tile your head over a sink and pour the water into one of yor nostrils. You are supposed to place your tongue on the top of the roof of your mouth.

It felt a little wired at first, but it really doeas work. After cleaning both nostrils my sinus felt great. I’ll try and post some pictures shortly. but for now you can check out this YouTube video on the neti pot.

Anti-Wrinkle Cream Roc Retinol Correxion Review

Roc Retinol Correxion ResultsGet 10 years back to the look of your skin, are the words that caught my attention. I was strolling down an aisle in Costco when I found RoC Rentinol Correxion anti-aging skin cream formula. The pack included the day and night creams to take away my facial wrinkles.

The box says in just 12 weeks, even my deep wrinkles will be visibly diminished, giving me 10 years back to the look of my skin.

Retinol Correxion is:
Oil-free
Hypoallergenic
Non-comedogenic (Won’t clog pores)
Dermatologist tested

HOW IT WORKS:
Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Night Cream contains the highest concentration of pure RoC Retinol and an essential mineral complex of magnesium, zinc, and copper. Specially formulated to work through the night when your skin is most receptiveto repair and renewal, it visibly reduces fine lines and deep wrinkles while you sleep.

Retinol CorrexionRESULTS YOU CAN EXPECT:
After first application, skin will look smoother.
After 4 weeks, your skin looks noticeably firmer. Fine lines and wrinkles are visbly reduced.
After 12 weeks, the appearance of even your deep wrinkles is reduced and skin looks healthier and younger.

DIRECTIONS:
Clease your face with a gentale cleanser and pat dry. Apply a pearl-size amount onto your fingertip then smooth into a thin layer that covers your entire face and neck. Use alone or under your regular moisturizer.

During the day, apply a sunscreen of SPF 15 or higher before applying makeup. Continue using sunscreen for one week after stopping use of the product.

 APPLICATION TIPS:
Start slowly: Using Retinol is like exercising. You don’t start out running a marathon. Begin by applying a small amount (a little goes a long way) every other day for about two weeks. After two weeks, you may begin applying more frequently until you find the best routine for your skin.
Sitck with it: It is important to be compliant, as the benefits of Retinol are seen over time. If you experience minor skin irratation, this may be temporary while your skin adjusts to the product. Just decrease usage for a few days and work your way back up after that.

I tried to stick with putting the cream on each night, and I did see some results after using it for about a week and a half. But with three kids, keeping me busy there are nights that I’m so tired I just fall asleep without putting on my anti-aging cream. So I would say it does work but only get it if you have the time to really use it.

How does the birth control patch work?

SkinOne of the benefits of the Ortho-Evra patch is that it is transdermal. By simply attaching it to one of 4 areas (upper arms, upper back, abdomen, and back), the hormones will seep through skin pores. Birth control effectiveness is not immediate, so folks should abstain from unprotected sex for a few days before the hormones take effect.

It should also be stated that the patch does not prevent or protect HIV or sexually trasmitted diseases.

What the patch does do is prevent pregnancy by preventing ovulation. The patch works by seeping hormones (namely estrogren and progestin) through the skin and through the bloodstream. In my personal case, preventing ovulation also prevents cysts from forming. It also helps me to keep track of when my period will start, which is a major plus for those who have somewhat irregular cycles, like me!

For someone who is pretty bad at keeping track of pills, having the patch is a nice alternative!

Ortho Evra - The Once-A-Week Patch - Is It The Right One For Me?

Birth Control: Right For You?Upon a yearly visit to my OB/GYN, I found out that I was suffering from more than a monthly period. I had developed some cysts on my ovaries and my menstral cramps were somewhat worse than usual. Although cysts are common during ovulation, the number found on my ovaries were of some mild concern. After a few ultrasound tests and x-rays, my doctor suggested trying birth control as a means to prevent cysts.

I was apprehensive at first and hinted that I wasn’t the best at taking pills regularly. (I often forgot the times I was supposed to take them.) Not really the best habit to have when taking birth control which requires a daily dosage, at preferably the same time every day.

So my doctor suggested Ortho Evra, the “Once-a-Week” adhesive patch.

The transdermal - or “through the skin” weekly patch is one of the latest advancements in contraceptives. By simply attaching a patch to one of a few areas: upper outer arm, upper torso (excluding breasts), abdomen, or buttocks, a woman can be free to resume all activities for a week before replacing the patch with a new one.

The patch is reported to be 99 percent effective when used as prescribed - once a week for 3 consecutive weeks.

Pretty good odds, I say?

Thankfully, my doctor gave me a couple months’ worth supply of patches to try out. They came in nifty little plastic cases, each patch tightly sealed, and packaged in a very discrete blue zip-up case that could be used to easily carry other daily toiletries!
